[Men's Cross Country] Pastars Claims Top 10 Finish; SXU Men s Cross Country Runs ThreePublished by
Bourbonnais, Ill. – With only three runners participating Friday evening, the Saint Xavier University men's cross country team could not compete for team results at the Illinois Intercollegiate Championships hosted by Olivet Nazarene University at Aspen Ridge Golf Course in Bourbonnais, Ill. However, junior Janis Pastars (Ogre, Latvia/Cameron University/Latvia) ran well and led the SXU trio with a top-10 individual finish taking 10th place overall with a time of 25:39.3 in the 8,000-meters (8K) race. Junior Victor Solis (Cicero, Ill./Morton College/Morton East) and senior Kyle Counter (Manhattan, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central) finished in 65th and 66th place, respectively, for the Cougars.
