CHICAGO - Saint Xavier University junior Janis Pastars (Ogre, Latvia/Cameron University/Latvia) used a first-place finish at the University of St. Francis (Ill.) Fighting Saints Twilight Invitational to claim the first Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week honor for the 2014 season when it was announced Thursday morning.  Pastars bested the rest of the 51-person field on the 5K (5,000 meters) course at Channahon Community Park last Friday evening with a stellar time of 15:50.  He edged out USF's Danny Bahret by just over three seconds for the top distinction.
