Cedar Rapids, Mich. – Missing the school record by just one second, junior Abel Hernandez (Alsip, Ill./Shepard) finished in second place overall with a stellar time of 25:01 over the 8K race (8,000 meters) to pace the Saint Xavier University men's cross country team at Saturday's NAIA Seminole Valley Stampede hosted by Mount Mercy University (Iowa) at Seminole Valley Park in Cedar Rapids, Mich.  The Cougars took fourth place in the very talented field finishing ahead of No. 14 Texas Wesleyan and behind only No. 11 Saint Mary (Kan.), No. 4 University of St. Francis (Ill.) and No. 21 Columbia College (Mo.), respectively.  Junior Alan Guzman (Berwyn, Ill./Morton College/Morton East) also finished among the top 10 for SXU Saturday with a sixth place overall finish and an impressive time of 25:32.
