Allendale, Mich. – Breaking a school record in the 600-meter run in her first collegiate race, freshman sprinter Rachal Brooks (Chicago, Ill./Mother McAuley) highlighted the first indoor meet of the season for the Saint Xavier University women's track and field team this past Friday.  The Cougars competed at the Grand Valley State University Early Bird Invitational in Allendale, Mich., but had only two runners participate.  Brooks turned in a stellar time of 1:39.69 and a fourth-place finish in the event to set the new school mark, just missing the NAIA's "B" standard national qualifying time of 1:38.90.  Sophomore sprinter Rachel Koronkiewicz (Evergreen Park, Ill./Evergreen Park) also ran the 300-meter dash for the Cougars and posted a time of 47.31 seconds for sixth place.
