Elmhurst, IL - IIT Cross Country opened the 2013 season at the Elmhurst College Earlybird Invitational on Friday. The lady Hawks out ran the elements as there was a rain storm headed directly through the area. With a 6^th place team finish in the 12 team field to open up 2013 Illinois Tech first year head coach Calin Hantau was pleased with his young women today. The Hawks returning National Qualifier from 2012 Courtney Rouse led the way with a 13th overall individual finish in the field of 158. Sara Glade was next to cross the finish line with a solid 29th place performance. Greta Zola (44th), April Wanagas (46th) and Anne Crotteau (54th) rounded out the scoring positions for IIT. 

The following men's race begun but was cancelled just into the run due to severe weather conditions. 

The lady Hawks will next be returning on Saturday, September 14^th at the University of Wisconsin Parkside Midwest Open.
