Geneva, Ohio - Saint Xavier University sophomore Nicole Watkins (Bartlett, Ill./Bartlett) officially closed out the indoor season for her squad by turning in a time of 3:11.20 in the preliminary heats of the 1,000 meter run Friday afternoon at the 2015 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.  Unfortunately, the time was not low enough to advance her to Saturday's finals race.  This was the first time in her young career that Watkins qualified as an individual to compete at the national meet.
