CHICAGO - The Saint Xavier University men's track and field team opened up its 2014 outdoor season at the Ted Haydon Invitational hosted by the University of Chicago on Saturday, April 5.  Highlights for the Cougars from this unscored meet included junior John Stancato (Manhattan, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central) winning the 100-meter dash and finishing third overall in the 200-meter dash in times of 11.33 and 22.53, respectively.  In addition, junior Janis Pastars (Ogre, Latvia/Cameron University) won the 1500-meter run in a time of 4:01.24 and freshman Abel Hernandez (Alsip, Ill./Shepard) finished second in the 5000-meter run in 15:26.
