Gulf Shores, Ala. – Representing the Saint Xavier University men's track & field program, senior Janis Pastars (Ogre, Latvia/Cameron University/Latvia) and junior Abel Hernandez (Alsip, Ill./Shepard) both turned in solid performances as individual qualifiers at the 2016 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships held Thursday through Saturday at Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium in Gulf Shores, Ala.  Both runners took 11th place overall in their respective events with Pastars completing the 3,000 meter steeplechase in a time of 9:45.96 and Hernandez finishing the 10,000 meter run (10K) in 32:21.62.
