In seventh grade, SIU freshman Lindsey Murray found herself standing on a roof, holding onto a swing, poised and ready to jump.

Freshman Raven Saunders and senior Curtis Wideman have been named the Missouri Valley Conference Field Athletes of the Week, the Valley announced Tuesday. This marks the fifth Saluki sweep in the field awards in as many opportunities this indoor season.

After a weekend of superb performances, the Saluki women's track and field team jumped back into the USTFCCCA National Computer Rankings Top-25, taking the final spot at No. 25 after being ranked 28th last week.

Saluki track and field closed out the SIU Invitational in dominant fashion to claim both the men's and women's team titles at the SIU Recreation Center on Saturday.

The Saluki track and field teams came out strong on Friday, earning five event titles, including several personal bests and school records in Day One of the SIU Invitational.

Saluki track and field will compete in its first scored meet of the season when it will host the SIU Invitational this weekend at the SIU Recreation Center.
