CARBONDALE, Ill.-- Kristen Zillmer and Kelly McShea continue Illinois State's steeplechase dominance, as the duo takes first and third, respectively, in the 3,000-meter steeplechase on day two of the Missouri Valley Conference Championships.

Numerous top-ten finishes highlighted a big second day for the Loyola University Chicago track & field team this afternoon at the Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the Lew Hartzog Track & Field Complex in Carbondale, Ill.

On day two of the Big Ten Outdoor Championships, Illinois qualified for tomorrow's finals in four events, securing six spots in the four running event finals.

The Illini claimed 15 spots in tomorrow's running event finals and qualified finalists in all eight event trials.

Glenn Powell (110m hurdles), Xavier Levy (200m dash) and Justin Kilpatrick (100m dash) each won events Saturday.

The Northern Illinois University track & field team set two more school records Saturday in Athens, Ohio, as they closed out the 2014 Mid-American Conference Outdoor Championships.
